The purpose of this symposium is to promote the thinking exchanges and developing data science itself from a wide range of research areas, such as Blockchain, Next Generation Internet, Machine Learning and Big Data Visualization, by exploring some of the major challenges, cutting-edge research and recent research results in the field. International experts in the field were invited to attend the workshop.

A Brief Introduction of the Famous Scholars Domestic and Abroad

1.Wendy Hall
        Professor Wendy Hall is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southampton, UK, and was Dean of the Faculty of Physical Science and Engineering from 2010 to 2014. She became a Dame Commander of the British Empire in the 2009 UK New Year's Honours list, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in June 2009. She was Head of the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) from 2002 to 2008. She is now a Director of the Web Science Institute.
        In 2000, she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng). She is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS) (also serving as President) and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET). In 2002, she was appointed a Fellow of the City and Guilds (FCGI), and then was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2009.
        She is one of the first computer scientists to undertake serious research in multimedia and hypermedia, she has been at its forefront ever since. The influence of her work has been significant in many areas including digital libraries, the development of the Semantic Web, and the emerging research discipline of Web Science.
 
2. Schahram Dustdar 
        Schahram Dustdar is Full Professor of Computer Science and head of The Distributed Systems Group at the TU Wien, Austria. From 2004-2010 he was also Honorary Professor of Information Systems at the Department of Computing Science at the University of Groningen (RuG), The Netherlands. From Dec 2016 until Jan 2017 he was a Visiting Professor at the University of Sevilla, Spain and from January until June 2017 he was a Visiting Professor at UC Berkeley, USA. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on the Cloud, IEEE Transactions on Services Computing ACM Transactions on the Web, and ACM Transactions on Internet Technology and on the editorial board of IEEE Internet Computing and IEEE Computer. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Computing (Springer). Dustdar is recipient of the ACM Distinguished Scientist award (2009), the IBM Faculty Award (2012), an elected member of the Academia Europaea - The Academy of Europe, and an IEEE Fellow (2016). 3. Yike Guo(郭毅可)
        Yike Guo is a Professor of Computing Science in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London. He is the founding Director of the Data Science Institute at Imperial College, as well as leading the Discovery Science Group in the department. Professor Guo has published over 200 articles, papers and reports. Projects he has contributed to have been internationally recognised, including winning the “Most Innovative Data Intensive Application Award” at the Supercomputing 2002 conference for Discovery Net, and the Bio-IT World "Best Practices Award" for U-BIOPRED in 2014. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and is a Fellow of the British Computer Society.
 
4. Jianping Wu(吴建平)
        Jianping Wu is an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor of Tsinghua University, IEEE fellow, director of China Education and Research Computer Network CERNET expert committee and the network center. He is a member of the National Informatization Expert Advisory Committee, Vice Chairman of China Internet Association, National High Technology Research Program "15" 863 Information Committee of Experts.
        Professor Wu has presided over the completion of more than 20 national large-scale scientific research projects and projects. As one of the major pioneers of the domestic Internet, presided over the completion of "China Education and Research Computer Network CERNET demonstration project" and other major projects, CERNET built the world's largest national academic network. He is also one of the main sponsors and promoters of the next generation of the Internet, presided over the next generation of China's Internet demonstration project CNGI core network CERNET2 backbone network, has built the world's largest pure IPv6 Internet. He won the national scientific and technological progress two, three prize 3 items, the ministries of scientific and technological progress award 10, published more than 200 academic papers, access to more than 10 Chinese technology invention patents.
        Professor Wu won the "national outstanding contributions of young experts" title, the State Council "special government allowances", "National Outstanding Young Scientists Fund", "cross-century outstanding talent training program fund" and the Ministry of education "Yangtze River scholars reward program" Distinguished Professor The National 973 program project "new generation of Internet architecture theory research" chief scientist.
        He also won "Jonathan Postal Award" awarded by the Internet Association at July 28, 2010. The award is the highest honor of the Internet industry, and Wu Jianping academician is the first Chinese scientist to receive this award.

5. Geoff Jiang(蒋国飞)
        Dr. Geoff Jiang (a.k.a Guofei Jiang) is a technology VP at ant finanical, leading ant finanical's technology labs.  Before joining Ant Financial, he was leading NEC Laboratories America and NEC Global R&D for many years as a technology VP.  He has published over 150 top tier technical papers including best papers from top conferences such as SIGKDD and also has over 100 patents granted or applied. His inventions have been successfully commercialized as Award Winning products and solutions at major industrial trade shows such as CEATEC and Interop. 
 
6. Maosong Sun(孙茂松)
        Maosong Sun is a professor of computer science and technology of Tsinghua University, former director of the department during 2007 - 2010. His main research areas are natural language processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, social computing and computational education. National Key Basic Research and Development Program (973 Program) project chief scientist, national social science fund major project chief expert. He has published nearly 200 papers in the international journals, international conferences, domestic core journals. In the year of 2013, he has led the team successfully developed and released the world's first free to the whole society to open the Chinese MOOC platform "school online" which had a wide range of influence. His main academic part-time includes: Deputy Director of the Center for Online Education and Research of the Ministry of Education, Director of the Large-scale Online Education Research Center of Tsinghua University, Tsinghua University - Joint Research Director of the Next Generation Search Technology Joint Research Center of the National University of Singapore, the Sixth Discipline Review Group of the State Council Academic Committee Member of the Science and Technology Group, member of the 12th and thirteenth expert review teams of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, member of the Ninth National Committee of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, "Chinese Journal of Information" editor, "big data" magazine editorial board deputy director. In 2016 he won the prize of "national outstanding science and technology workers" and "capital of the public learning star."
 
7. Minyi Guo(过敏意)
        Minyi Guo is currently a Professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Visiting Professor, University of Tianjin, Japan. He is also a visiting professor at Nanjing University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Central South University and other schools. IEEE senior members, ACM, IEICE, IPSJ and other members. It is now the key projects and projects of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the 863 Target-oriented Key Project, the 863 Exploration-oriented Project, the 985 Project and many other national issues, as well as the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program. He has a wide range of effects on parallel and distributed computing, parallel compilation, and biocomputing. Published more than 150 articles, monographs 2, including SCI journals more than 50 articles.
 
8.Jie Tang(唐杰)
        Jie Tang is a (tenured) associate professor with the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, and was also visiting scholar at Cornell University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Southampton University. His interests include social network analysis, data mining, and machine learning. He has published more than 200 journal/conference papers and holds 20 patents. His papers have been cited by more than 9,100 times. He served as PC Co-Chair of CIKM’16, WSDM’15, KDD-CUP/Poster/Workshop/Local/Publication Co-Chair of KDD’11-15, and Acting Editor-in-Chief of ACM TKDD, Associate Editors of IEEE TKDE/TBD and ACM TIST. He leads the project AMiner.org for academic social network analysis and mining, which has attracted more than 8 million independent IP accesses from 220 countries/regions in the world. He was honored with the UK Royal Society-Newton Advanced Fellowship Award, CCF Young Scientist Award, and NSFC Excellent Young Scholar.
 
9.Shuo Bai(白硕)
        Director of ChinaLedger Technical Committee, former vice president and chief engineer of former Shanghai Stock Exchange, executive director of China Chinese Information Society

10.Kunbiao Lu(陆堃彪)
        Senior director of China UnionPay Technology Group, joined China UnionPay in 2007. He has been focused on risk control and financial technology, and has a major research interests on big data, artificial intelligence, block chain and other technologies. He also possesses a wealth of practical experience in anti-fraud, risk control, financial supervision.

11.Xudong Long(龙旭东)
        CTO of HNA Group. He graduated from Peking University, has 20 years of experience in the field of information technology. He has served as Hewlett-Packard Consultant Manager, Business Director of Data Center Services, Chief Technology Officer of HNA Cloud Technology Co., Ltd. and Chief Technology Officer of HNA Eco-Technology Group Co., Ltd.
        As a field expert, Mr. Long works to promote the HNA Technology Group in the information age of digital transformation, and promote the Group's technical system, scientific and technological innovation, and cutting-edge technology research. At the same time he also participated in and promoted the group in the cloud, big data and artificial intelligence technology and other areas of sustained technical investment. He and his group are creating a shared science and technology industry ecology, for organizations and individuals to create value.

12.Jun li(李俊)
       Chief architect of distributed technology of Guizhou Far East integrity management. Bachelor of Computer Science, Master of Electronic Communications, MBA, 15 years of IT and financial industry experience. Mr. Junli has a wealth of financial technology, as well as block chain architecture and application design experience. He has involved in mutiple blockchain-based projects such:
       -Identity Chain System based on Blockchain
       -Guiyang Rural Commercial Bank Electronic Account and Digital Asset Account System
       -Application of "Data Cage" Based on BlockChain
       -Application of "Joint Punishment" Based on BlockChain
       He is also responsible for the structure and leadership to develop the original open source block chain system - DNA framework, and the design work of a number of blockchain based product system.
 

13. Wanjun Mi(糜万军)
         The president of Shanghai Star.V Data Technology Co., which upholds the idea of the combination of Internet thinking and media big data, focusing on providing the holistic solution from data collection to scene application for TV network operators, media & advertisers, and the third party data demanders. Dr. Wanjun Mi graduated from Tsinghua University and Stanford University. After coming back to China in 2011, he was selected as one of the Zhongguancun Leading Talents, the Top Ten Oversea Talents, and into Shanghai 3310 Talent Plan.
